was the quick nor the last part tells how the trip went over. Our train was out of course, because last night was still on strike and the train that will not drive came to Calais. We will now proceed to a backup connection to Lille.

Let me tell you the last part of our voyage. Our train was canceled because there was the last day strike and the train did not come to Calais to leave this morning. We should now use another connection to Lille.

In France you need to validate / cancel / large punch the tickets. You need to have baggage tags on your carry-on bags. That is the reason why you have baggage-tags here to take with you.

In France, the great tickets are still tied. Baggage must be identified. Therefore, the luggage tags are interpreted.

It even go direct TGV trains to Paris, but only at noon.

There are direct TGV trains Paris-bound but around noon-time.

We should go first with the regional train to Calais-Frethun and change the train there.

We should first of all take a regional train to Calais-Frethun and change there.

This time the train arrives.

This time the train came.

If it is as calm as here it would become a nice ride.

If the saying is blank, then it can be a nice ride.

Already we are in Calais Frethun.

Then we approched Calais-Frethun.

There we continued on a TGV Train to Lille but officially it's a regional train and very crowd so many had to stand. We were lucky this as trains continued to Paris after a short break in Lille Europe.

There it goes further with a TGV to Lille, which is however done only as a regional and even pretty full on, there are so many. We are lucky: this train will continue from Lille Europe to Paris Nord.

We can sit down all the other first-time and take two empty seats. The conductor can we throw out the first in Paris Nord. To him we say that our first train to Lille-Flandres is down and explained to us the ticket office in Calais-Ville, we diesen Zug nehmen sollen. Der Schaffner ist nett und akzeptiert das.

We let all others taking their seats before we occupied two seats. The conductor can get us out in Paris Nord as this was the first stop. We explained him that our first train to Lille-Flandres was cancelled and the ticket counter in Calais-Ville told us to take this train. The conductor was nice and accepted it.

We arrived two hours earlier in Paris Gare du Nord (North Station) as scheduled. So we could try to catch a connecting train two hours ahead of schedule. But the train should leave from Gare de l'Est (East Station).

In Paris Gare du Nord (Nordbahnhof) We are therefore two hours earlier than planned. We could go on, two hours earlier. Only Our train from the Gare de l'Est (East Station) from.

No evidence to the Ostbahnhof.

No information towards the East Station.

Here the map showed the way from the North to the East station.

But here's the route from the north-located to the Ostbahnhof.

And there it is, too.

And there it was displayed.

Worked so for stupid people. The only corner where need to make a turn you find all sign posted.

is also suitable for Stupid. At the only corner where you must turn everything is signposted.

From this corner it is still so far to the north station back. Here I go from the batteries, so I must now take pictures with the iPhone on. I forget, however, that accommodates all iPhone in portrait mode.

From this corner you can see the distance to the North Station. But my batteries for my camera went down so I need to use my iPhone to take pictures. But I forgot format that iPhone takes all pictures in the letter. A

iPhone has no zoom. Otherwise you could see the street sign "Rue d'Alsace" and "Gare de l'Est".

An iPhone has no zoom, unfortunately. Otherwise you would see the street sign of "Rue d'Alsace" and "Gare de l'Est".

so far it is from the same street intersection to the Ostbahnhof. Somehow the building but is quite deep.

So it is still far to the East station from the same intersection. Somehow it looked very low the building.

Indeed all tracks were low to us.

In fact, all tracks are among us.

And we still have the stairs Luggage down. So great is the way is not so.

And we need to go the stairs with all bags. The way was not so great.

And here is the way from East to North Station.

And here it went out when you have the East Railway Station to North Station.

Two hours before our booked train is a TGV from Metz to. All ICE trains to Frankfurt and TGV trains to Karlsruhe are booked days. But as we have, "Loisir" is selected, we can not exchange the card.

Two hours ahead of our booked trains there was another TGV train towards Metz. All Frankfurt-bound German ICE Intercity Express high-speed trains and Karlsruhe-bound TGV trains were fully booked for the next days. As we booked "Loisir" we were allowed to change the tickets.

We spoke with the conductor who allocated two seats to us Which occurred the payment of 30 EUR (for 2) reservation change fee because we were in the wrong train.

We talk to the train manager, who assigns us two seats, which cost EUR However, 30 (for 2) to change fees, because we're in the wrong train.

In Metz, the ride is over. It lasted only 1:20 hour from Paris. Actually, it went rapidly. Clock at 08.00, we are in Calais and drove off at 12.50 clock, we were already in Metz. Faster and cheaper, we would have done it not with a car too. Here we get from Bruno's parents, who live in Saarland and bring us to Saarbrücken. From here go direct regional express trains to Frankfurt Airport, the slow start operating again.

In Metz our train terminated. It was only 1:20 hours from Paris. Quite fast. At 08:00 hrs we started from Calais and arrived at 12:50 hrs already Metz. We could not make it faster or cheaper with a car. Bruno's parents met us there who lived close by in Germany and took us to the first German city of Saarbrücken. From here we took a regional train to Frankfurt Airport which resumed the service by and by.

We arrived there around 17.20 hrs in Frankfurt. For an additional day we need to pay 5 EUR extra in the parking. I need to return back immediately to my office place. My car was in Hildesheim in Northern Germany. But this was close to Hanover and as there were no flight and it was Hanover trade fair all trains were full. When I arrived in Hildesheim the office of the parking was closed but it was good that I arranged the exit ticket before I left which was valid to the day before. The next day I called the operator of the parking company was very nice. After I explained the situation they felt sorry for me did not want me to pay the addtional day.

In total the short journey was very nice on ARTEMIS and getting to and from the ship was an once-in-a-lifetime adventure. We wrote Lufthansa, P&O, German Railways and Windsor Castle for some refund requests. Let's see how they will react. We will keep an eye on ARCADIA and ADONIA when we will go with P&O again. I am curious on reports from the ARTANIA when ARTEMIS will be transferred to Phoenix next year. And I truly hope that the guests of ARTANIA will like the ship the same way like we did. I guess it was the most expensive 1-nighter we ever made in our lifetime.

Gegen 17.20 Uhr kommen wir in Frankfurt an. Wir müssen für 5 EUR einen Tag im Parkhaus in Frankfurt nachlösen. Ich fahre direkt weiter in den Harz. Mein Auto steht in Hildesheim. Nur es ist Hannover-Messe and no pilots. Therefore, the last ICE is again quite full. When I arrive in Hildesheim, the park is closed. Luckily I had already an exit ticket already worried that there were also only up to the previous day. The call at the Hildesheimer Parking Authority was then pleasing. After I explained the situation as did the late pick-up cars, one was understanding and gave up an additional charge for a day. Overall, it was

very nice on the ARTEMIS and arrival and departure an adventure for life. We have now Lufthansa, German Rail, Windsor Castle and P & O Cruises written. Let's see what comes out. In any case we are times the Adonia Arcadia and keep in mind to once again get away with P & O. On the reports of the Adonia I'm very excited. And I hope that that which the ship like it as much as we liked. For us it was probably the most expensive one-night cruise that we did.
